Collaboration Exhibition with Dürst Britt & Mayhew

Namuso Gallery is pleased to announce its collaboration with Dürst Britt & Mayhew for the group exhibition A Gust of Wind Gives Voice to the Trees, curated by Jaring Dürst Britt and Alexander Mayhew.

The exhibition brings together the practices of Lee Chae, Maja Klaassens, Paul Beumer, and Willem Hussem through a shared sensitivity to nature, understood not as image, but as force, process, and condition. Rather than presenting landscape as representation, the works approach nature as an active principle that shapes form, gesture, and perception.

The presentation explores the tension between movement and stillness, revealing resonances between East Asian minimalist traditions and European abstraction. Across the four practices, simplicity operates not as reduction for its own sake, but as a method for bringing material essence, duration, and presence into focus. Within this framework, wind becomes an invisible yet structuring agent, shaping form without appearing as motif.

This collaboration reflects Namuso Gallery’s ongoing commitment to fostering dialogue between Asian and European artistic languages within a contemporary context.
