Bo Zhang’s work will be on view in the Buning Brongers Prijzen 2026 winners’ exhibition at Arti et Amicitiae, Amsterdam. The show brings together the six winners and presents a range of practices by a new generation of artists graduating from Dutch art academies.
Zhang’s paintings often start from her personal photo archive, and she balances figuration, abstraction and intuition to give everyday moments a surreal intensity. A publication designed by Helena Hesselink, with interviews by art platform Mister Motley, accompanies the exhibition.
The 2026 award recipients are Sofia Lulu Chiadmi (HKU Utrecht), Jochem Mestriner (Piet Zwart Institute, Rotterdam), Marieke van Ringelesteijn (HKU Utrecht), Aga Rymuszka (Royal Academy of Art, The Hague), Taiyo Shimizu Larenas (Royal Academy of Art, The Hague), and Bo Zhang (Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam).
