Suju Ahn

Suju Ahn (b. 1997, South Korea) is a painter based between Seoul and Groningen. She graduated from the Master of Arts in Fine Art and Design (Painting) programme at the Frank Mohr Institute, Groningen.
Working primarily with oil on canvas, Ahn creates figurative paintings centred on everyday food ingredients. Rather than depicting them simply as objects of consumption, she approaches these familiar materials as quiet presences with their own materiality and agency. Through careful attention to surfaces, textures, and forms, her paintings explore the relationship between intimacy, perception, and consumption. Her restrained compositions invite a slower way of looking, allowing ordinary subjects to be encountered beyond their functional roles.
Ahn has exhibited at Josilda da Conceição, Amsterdam (2026), and previously presented her work at Hongcheon Museum of Art, Artertain, WWWspace 2, Gallery IN, and Art Space Plastic Flog in South Korea (2022–2024).
