Geumbin Lee(b.1997, South Korea) is a visual artist whose practice explores the subtle relationship between absence, memory, and the passage of time. InInspired by the Japanese architectural concept of Ma (間), the interval or void that connects interior and exterior, Lee’s work reflects on the spaces between presence and disappearance, where fragments, sensations, and quiet movements continue to exist beyond clear definition.

Working through repetitive processes of rubbing, erasing, and layering, Lee creates minimalist compositions and overlapping structures that transform surfaces into spaces where time can accumulate. These layered works become records of physical presence and contemplation, revealing a delicate balance between perfection and imperfection. Through this process, Lee explores Ma as a space that appears empty yet holds profound emotional and visual depth. Inviting slow and attentive encounters, Lee's work functions as a quiet opening through which viewers can reflect on their own rhythms of breathing, perception, and memory. Her paintings create moments of pause where subtle traces of life, often overlooked, can emerge and be gently experienced.

Lee has participated in group exhibitions including The Shade of Roots (Amelisweerd, Utrecht, 2024) and Žara (Utrecht, 2025).
