Hung-Fu Tsai

Hung-Fu Tsai (b. 1999, Taipei) is an artist based in the Netherlands. He graduated with a BA in Jewellery at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in 2026.
Working primarily through jewellery, objects, and material-based practices, Tsai explores the relationship between people and the things they collect, carry, and preserve. Rather than approaching objects as passive belongings, he considers them as active participants in shaping memory, identity, and a sense of belonging. Through processes of collecting, migration, and making, his works examine how personal and cultural experiences become embedded within materials. His embodied engagement with objects and materials transforms subtle and ambiguous human–object relationships into tangible forms, inviting reflection on attachment, transformation, and the emotional lives of things.
Tsai's recent presentations include The Dream My Bones Dream (group exhibition, OT301, Amsterdam, 2025), Biome Nest (group project in collaboration with UMC Hospital, Amsterdam, 2024).
