Graduation Show 2026: Jeanne Lai | Frank Mohr Institute, Groningen
CURRENT viewing_room
Jeanne Lai (b.2001, Taipei) is a Taiwanese artist exploring the intricate and often paradoxical relationships between humans and animals. She graduated from the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan University of Art in 2023 and completed the Painting programme at the Frank Mohr Institute, Groningen, the Netherlands, in 2026.
Lai is drawn to animals more than humans, yet she sees their reflections in one another. This duality drives her exploration of dominance and dependence, two forces that shape interactions between species and within human relationships. Through her work, she examines these tensions, questioning where the boundaries between self and other, control and submission, truly lie.
Her recent presentations include They Live in the Room I Live (solo exhibition, Fog Space, 2024), Whatz Art Fair 2024, Taipei, and the STUPIN Residency Program (2024).
