Overview

Opening reception: Sunday 5 July, 3.30pm

The World Re-seen, Remembered, and Felt brings together three contemporary artists who explore the possibilities of painting at the intersection of reality and imagination.

Katarzyna Baldyga, Bo Zhang and Catelijne Boele each transform familiar experiences into new visual realities through distinct approaches to perception, material, and emotion.

Baldyga constructs fragile and shifting landscapes where material, memory, and imagination intersect, allowing forms to continuously emerge and transform. Zhang expands everyday scenes into unfamiliar worlds by questioning the act of seeing and exploring alternative ways of perceiving reality. Boele translates invisible emotions and memories into painterly spaces through colour, rhythm, and motifs drawn from the natural world.

For all three artists, painting is not merely a means of representing reality, but a space where reality is continuously reimagined and reconstructed.
